DONE: Working Bee (Douglas): Rock N Roll Stage 2, Sunday 31st July 2pm

You love it. We love it. But it needs some finishing touches.
Rock & Roll Stage 2 has been been cleared by machine but needs some work on several key features. If you love riding that trail and don't mind helping out for a couple of hours, then join us at Douglas on Sunday arv for a little dig-dig! ;-) Could be a great chance to get an insight into what's in store for Stage 3.
Leo and crew will be shaping some corners and working on jumps. Plus there's a bit of raking and tread compacting work to make the ride nice and firm. So if you're keen help, join us for a little bit of work that will go a long way towards making the trail oh so fun to ride.
Oh, and riders not planning to attend, could you please skip riding the trail while we're working? Crews will be working from just after the road gap jump. So ride the the flip-flops and take the B-line on the jump to peel off back up the fireroad. Thanks in advance for your co-operation.
Where to meet: The Hump (the trail hub at the top of Easy Street)
Time: Sunday 31st July, 2pm
Duration: as long as you can spare, most of us will pack up after a couple hours

POSTSCRIPT: A great turnout of 20+ volunteers saw some really good finishing touches made to the second stage of our newest and much adored trail at Douglas, Rock & Roll. A fantastic outcome of this project, demonstrated clearly again at this working bee, is that the bonds between DH and XC riders in our club have strengthened, greatly. Diehard DH riders worked side-by-side with XC stalwarts to passionately shape berms, compact trail tread and even rock armour technical sections of trail. Stage 2 is shaping up as a very bold, awe-inspiring, black diamond addition to our network of trails in the Douglas Reserve. Go ride it y'all...just remember it's a very difficult trail that will challenge advanced XC riders.
