New Beginners trail "Easy Street" completed
Is it magic that makes our trails and bridges?

Hell, no!
It's hard work from generous volunteers who give up some of their precious ride time so we all get some sweet riding at Douglas Mountain Bike Reserve. Just check out some these shots of the guys putting finishing touches to trails either side of Easy Street's new bridge:

This work opened up the new bridge to become fully ridable.
And here's one driving a machine to rip up the compacted motorbike lines that confused sections of Scrub Pythons:

Decompacting the motorbike lines will allow grasses and other flora to blossum so those unwanted tracks return to their natural bush state. Riders, please assist this process by remaining on the designated Scrub Pythons track. And go that extra step...if you see someone riding the the old lines, politely tell 'em to get back on the track and reasons why.
And here she is, the yet to be named new bridge (post on the forum if you have a name), installed and ready to be ridden on the newly completed track, "Easy Street":

Now better grab your rigs and go ride the new bits at Douglas Mountain Bike Reserve.
Some of the Easy Street project milestones:
-
Commissioned by Rockwheelers Exec and Trail Building Committee, construction of began in 2009 under the control of Project Manager Peter "Mozzy" McLean;
-
Adrian Marriner and his magic little machine completed carving the first, upper, section of trail in Nov 2009;
-
He returned to complete the second, lower, section in May 2010;
-
The first bridge utilising discarded powerline poles was constructed by Rockwheelers working bee in Aug 2010 with funding support from Ground Effect - we've shown up on their site, CLICK HERE;
-
The second pre-fab bridge was moved by crane into it's new home in Aug 2010;
-
Trail was completed by Rockwheelers working bee Saturday, 18th September.
The total project required investment and contributions from Rockwheelers and other sources in excess of $20,000 to complete, plus countless hours of generously donated, hard yaka, working bee grunt work from club volunteers.
Chalk up another win for Rockwheelers, their friends and the neighbouring Douglas community.
Well done to all involved. I feel a ribbon-cutting opening day coming on!
