Trail Building Committee
Have you got a top trail project idea for Rockwheelers?

Rockwheelers Trail Building Committee (TBC) has a bunch of projects in the pipeline to help develop our trail networks and related facilities [link to project pipeline to be inserted here soon]. But we’re not the holders of all great trail ideas; we know some of you out there not only have great ideas, but the skills, the friends and the desire to see a project through. We’d like to work with you to help see your vision materialise into a trail feature that your fellow Rockwheelers can enjoy.
Members of the TBC have a rich history in designing and constructing trail networks at various locations around town. And yep, they’ve turned the learning from plenty of mistakes over the years into a vast experience that they can share with other trail builders. They know how to take a kernel of an idea first talked about at a trail hub, devise cunning plans that land owners and managers will embrace for their many stakeholders, and go off to produce sweet bits of trail for users to enjoy year after year. On top of that, Rockwheelers has access to equipment, tools, and potential funds to help speed things along. Which all means Rockwheelers can add plenty of value to your trail ideas.
And we’re inspired by any young (or not so young) trail builders out there who want to build, refurbish or maintain trails for other mountain bikers to enjoy. So we invite you to bring your ideas forward; come forth and the TBC will work with you to help see your ideas through.
Click here for a form that you can use to help communicate your trail ideas. Some things on there you might not have even thought about. And yep, there is more than one box to consider. But building trails that won’t fall over in the first downpour of a wet season require a bit of thought to plan out and the right techniques to build. And like any form, not all the boxes will apply to every project. Please don’t let the details put you off – contact someone in the TBC about your idea and we’ll help pull together some details.
Submit your ideas to the TBC and we’ll invite you to one of our monthly meetings to discuss a way forward. Try and get forms to us well in advance to help with planning and resources. Whatever you do, don’t keep your ideas to yourself; share them and hopefully Rockwheelers year after year can benefit greatly.
