About the Dam Dark

Rockwheelers love riding at night. So much so that we'd prefer to ride rather than sleep. The Dam Dark is an event that we love staging to celebrate our night riding passions. Some may choose to tough it out and ride the endurance event for the full 12 hours; some share the task and ride as a team; some just go for a couple laps, return to camp for dinner and coldies with family and friends, then a good night's sleep and awake early to ride as the sun comes up. At the Dam Dark you choose how much or how little riding you want to do - it's pretty laid back.

Our trail network at Ross Dam features trails with easy to moderate difficulty. There's nothing too tricky or gnarly to trip riders up. And because the trails are on the easy side they're the perfect stomping ground for any riders new to night riding who want to gain confidence at riding with lights. Look out for mid-week night rides at Ross Dam leading up to the race in our XC Ride Information forum.

If you're into camping, you'll love the Dam Dark. If you camp and ride, you'll have a blast at the Dam Dark. Pack your tent, pack your friends, pack your bike and pack your lights...it'll be Dam Dark.
